Each year Essex enters the English Primary Schools’ Chess Association inter-county competition. The country is divided into 3 regions for the first round in March – we play in the eastern zone. The successful teams go forward to the final, in April or May.
The Under 11 Girls Team Manager, Andrew Willoughby, selects his team of 12 players from the strongest players in the EJCA tournaments throughout the year. Anyone in Year 6 or below is eligible to be selected.
